Some of the last pieces are the human facing ones. Voice .... either costs money or your own device/equipment to produce something that does not make you grind your teeth.
After hearing many samples, we settled on one. And then built Oogway his own dedicated TTS voice server. After which....we made that available on his webguide stall. So all that is left is training, and creating workarounds for when OpenwebUI is not providing. So far they been doing great with the update storm!!
LITTLE OOGWAY PUBLIC VOICE — COMPLETION REPORT
Date: October 18, 2026
Status: LIVE AND VERIFIED
Little Oogway can now speak his answers aloud on the public AnyKey Cafe website.
WHAT WAS BUILT
The completed voice path is:
1. A visitor asks Little Oogway a question on AnyKeyCafe.com.
2. WordPress places the question in Little Oogway’s existing work queue.
3. Little Oogway’s local worker retrieves it using the existing outbound-only connection.
4. His local language model writes the answer.
5. The worker sends the answer across the trusted home LAN to the Kokoro voice service on the Kitchen machine.
6. Kokoro renders the answer using Little Oogway’s selected voice.
7. The resulting MP3 is uploaded to WordPress in small authenticated chunks.
8. WordPress publishes the recording with the written answer.
9. The visitor’s browser attempts to play the reply automatically and also displays normal audio controls.
VOICE CONFIGURATION
Voice: bm_little_oogway
Speech speed: 0.84
Voice engine: Kokoro
Voice-service location: Kitchen machine on the private home LAN
The chosen voice is based on Darren’s own authorized recording and the tuned voice developed during the earlier listening tests. It is inspired by the calm, measured style we wanted without cloning the copyrighted Master Oogway performance.
PUBLIC INTERFACE
The Little Oogway page now includes:
- A checked-by-default option labeled “Read Little Oogway’s replies aloud.”
- Automatic playback when the browser permits it.
- Visible audio controls for replaying, pausing, or manually starting the recording.
- A graceful fallback when a browser blocks autoplay.
- Written answers that remain available even if speech generation fails.
NETWORK AND PRIVACY DESIGN
No public connection into the Kitchen machine was created.
The Kitchen Kokoro service remains accessible only on the trusted home LAN. Little Oogway’s worker requests speech locally, then sends the completed MP3 outward to WordPress through the authenticated website interface.
There is:
- No router port forwarding for Kokoro.
- No public Kokoro endpoint.
- No inbound tunnel into the Kitchen machine.
- No requirement for the public website to contact a private LAN address.
- No exposure of Little Oogway’s private machine or model service.
The voice feature follows the same bounded design used for Little Oogway’s written website answers: the local worker initiates the connections.
RELIABILITY FEATURES
Voice is optional and deliberately separated from the written-answer path.
If Kokoro is offline, unreachable, or returns invalid audio:
- The written answer is still delivered.
- The job does not fail merely because speech failed.
- The worker records that voice was unavailable.
Generated recordings are:
- Validated as MP3 audio.
- Limited to a maximum safe size.
- Uploaded in small ordered chunks.
- Reassembled and validated by WordPress.
- Given unpredictable public filenames.
- Automatically retained for approximately 24 hours.
- Removed when their associated question is deleted.
WHY CHUNKED UPLOADS WERE ADDED
The first full live voice test successfully produced an MP3 on the Kitchen machine, but the web host rejected the single large encoded upload with HTTP 413.
Version 0.3.1 solved that hosting-limit problem by dividing each MP3 into authenticated 48 KB chunks. WordPress accepts and reassembles those chunks before publishing the completed recording.
This preserved the existing hosting configuration and required no unsafe server changes.
WORDPRESS RELEASE
Plugin: AnyKey AI Doorway
Installed version: 0.3.1
Status: Active
The voice work was merged with the previously active 0.2.10 code rather than overwriting its improvements. Preserved features include:
- The expanded public request limit.
- Administrator rate-limit bypass.
- WordPress REST nonce support.
- Authenticated browser requests.
- Existing live-knowledge and guide behavior.
VERIFICATION
Automated worker tests: 18/18 passed
The tests cover:
- Voice synthesis using the selected voice and speed.
- Ordered chunked audio uploads.
- Written-answer survival when voice generation fails.
- AnyKey Cafe URL and context boundaries.
- Live-fact handling.
- Aggregate-only visitor-interest reporting.
- Music-listening statistics.
- Roundtable wording safeguards.
- Identity and operational-detail boundaries.
- Humor and boundary-defense behavior.
LIVE END-TO-END TEST
A real question was submitted through the public Little Oogway page.
Verified results:
- Little Oogway retrieved the public request.
- His model produced a written answer.
- The Kitchen Kokoro service generated the speech.
- The worker uploaded the MP3 in chunks.
- WordPress reassembled and published it.
- The public browser loaded the recording.
- The browser began playing it automatically.
- Recording duration: approximately 15.9 seconds.
- Published size: 253,868 bytes.
- HTTP result: 200 OK.
- Content type: audio/mpeg.
- Worker result: completed job 8673.
A separate earlier attempt returned an empty language-model answer. Little Oogway handled that safely by telling the visitor he could not finish and suggesting another wording. That was an intermittent answer-generation event, not a voice-system failure.
KNOWN CONTENT ISSUE DISCOVERED DURING TESTING
The successful spoken test concerned quantum cookies. Little Oogway’s answer incorrectly said AnyKey Cafe does not serve them.
The important distinction is:
- The complete voice system worked correctly.
- The spoken audio accurately represented the written answer.
- The incorrect quantum-cookie statement is a knowledge/content issue, not a speech or transport issue.
That gives us a clear future refinement: add an authoritative Cafe fact establishing the existence and appropriate description of quantum cookies.

Written replies remain resilient if speech is unavailable.
The full public path has been tested successfully.
