The topic requirements don't allow for a lot of characters so here's what I want the full title to say-
The "flooding" principal. The only way to topple an empire.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but my impression of empires (probably in the galactic theater just as much as the global one) is that powerful empires don't fall because of one war or an insurrection. Sure, wars will chip away at them, but its the weathering agents that get them. In the same way that weathering agents like wind and rain bring the gradual demise of entire mountains.
More to the point-
We can all probably agree that we are slaves of the old galactic empire. But we probably need to stop the search for the one "key" answer. We need to accept that varied combinations amongst the many will probably be the final solution.
*RV will be part of the solution, because we will need to build our psychic abilities
*Cryptography, and open-source software, and homebrew computers will be part of the solution, because we need to maintain a free and open internet if even a barely legal one.
*Exchange of practical technologies (that we share via subversive internet) will be part of the solution.
*P2P money systems (no not the cryptocurrencies that are slowly being promoted from the banks and flooding the market)
*P2P exchanges (like buying your milk from the local farmer under the table with P2P NON-legal tender money. Even though that's considered "criminal" by some standards for no damn reason)
What will not be part of the solution
Trivial pursuit in the areas of classical philosophy, political science, conspiracy theory, and even the history of sciences. We will fill our brains and our conversations with constant chatter of whom said what. It becomes nothing more than a grand theater of hearsay. Stop trying to pressure yourself to know all the titles and the authors and the conventions and the documentaries. Stop pressuring others to know these things in order to be part of your revolutionary / conspiracy clique. The solution is about the here and now. The "what if we try this" line of thinking and not "he said that".
I think there are a lot of fascinating things to learn about what actually happened. The actual civilizations that all existed here at one time. The actual technologies that were controlled by the masses, the actual architectures, etc. And, no doubt, the actual horrendous evil that goes on to this day. But digging into it is just filling our minds with "stuff". Stay off the "stuff" wheel.
The flooding principal is when just about everyone everywhere is trying all kinds of things that are unified in the principal of getting independant from a centralized system. Every drop becomes the ocean. There is no "one" very refined scheme. Even for pure selfish reasons is just fine.
And avoid spending all your time posting your thoughts in forums that barely anyone reads. This is another useless way of trying to solve the problem.
. . . hmm. Well, with that I better sign off of this thread.
Your thoughts, including strong disagreement, are absolutely welcome. This is, of course, just my random lamentation and not a carefully derived deep knowledge.
