There are events, situations, and individuals that we've come to understand are real, but they have very different accounts around the details. I think a list that lays out the differences would be useful. I know people will immediately want to argue about what's true or not true, so I suggest we focus on listing out all of the variations as a catalogue for future confirmation. The first example I'll address is Lemuria and Atlantis. We know they were real, but there are different explanations of HOW they were destroyed. These are three that I'm aware of:

Dracos known as The Black Confederation destroyed them both using light ships.
