Wikileaks 2.0
This is not really a topic matching with what Farsight does but I decided why not post here as well.
If I understand correctly, what was novel about Wikileaks is that Julian had become notorious for his reliable anonymity of his sources. People knew that they could message to him anonymously, as Julian understood cryptography and held as a journalist. But the downfall was perhaps largely about being a sole proprieter. There was no other name to attach to the website. Not necessarily that he was sole proprieter in legalese, but just the idea.
Wikilieaks predated blockchain technology. We now know that multiple internet hosts can hold a ledger, and that ledger can be programmed to enforce the other ledgers to exist as an exact copy.
So my question is, why couldn't someone just do what Wikilieaks did but with multiple sites of storage, and while there may be a few people to filter the information to make sure it isn't jargon, there would be several whom host the same information. Mirror hosting, mirror websites. I don't know about cryptography, but I know enough to understand what's possible, and I have no problem being a host.
So why doesn't this happen? Can we make it happen? Does anyone have the necessary knowledge in this matter? Or even just a piece of the puzzle to put it together?
