because a big camera with 4k and framrate is out of budged for a lot of us,
I got the idea about using a GoPro.
It can do 4k at 120fps, it also can do 5k with lower frame rate. And the sensor is bigger than i a cellphone.
Compared to a full sensor camera it is cheep.
Question is if it works with a IR filter or if you have to modify the camera for IR and if this is possible.
If it works with a GoPro somehow I guess then many of us are able to scale up the search.

What is your feeling about this idea?

I have often wondered about this. You might contact LifePixel.com to see if they can modify a GoPro to be full spectrum. Then you would have to check if there are IR filters that can be fitted onto a GoPro.

There's some variation in the cases between models, definitely need to contact someone to cut it open. Something to watch out for with the gopros - they have spotty quality control and some models can overheat within ~10-30 minutes using the higher settings on battery power and they shutoff without warning you if it gets too hot. It is good for shorter clips. Turn off autosmooth, hyperboost, make sure the back LCD turns off after a few seconds, stuff like that to keep the temp down so you can get the 20 minutes in.
