I think there used to be a distinction between a Soul versus a Spirit, but, for as far as I am able to retrieve, the original-information on the distinction(s) between these two words seems to have been lost, and, similar to how Medicine and Medication are often used inter-changeably, even though they are not really the same, something similar must have happened with these two vocabulary words, too.
The original-perception of it that I had was that a Soul was what Housed a Spirit, whilst a Physical-Body is the metaphorical Biological-Space-Suit to House the Soul or Spirit-Soul, but, even this is a bit muddied or muddled in my attempts at auto-perceiving their distinction(s). Additionally, I have come across sources which state that our bodies actually have five total layers, for at least as far as existence(s) connected to the Physical and Spiritual-Realms are Concerned, the Physical-Body being the «densest» layer, the Astral-Body being the next or another layer, yet some other Energy Body that is gives the Form to the Astral-Body, then the Soul-Body, and, finally, Spirit-Body, or something like that... unfortunately, I do not remember the specific-source(s) from where I may have read this, and, IF any if it came from on-line, I would state with a great deal of certainty that they are no longer on-line.
Additionally, the «layers», from what I remember, act as a sort of Protection-Shell... what most people in the flesh do not know is that, when going through experiences WITHOUT the physical-layer or other outer-layers, what they «feel» actually ends up feeling five times /more/ objective, and, thus intense... a wound inflicted to the physical-body might certainly «hurt like hell» as a metaphoric-description, but, that same experience inflicted to one who is dis-embodied feels five times even MORE painful... conversely, when it comes to pleasures, they, too, also feel five times better; then there is also a caveat that incorrect-perceptions about after-life non-physical existence can put a discarnate-being into such a state that, even though they can still feel certain physical-sensations, they CANNOT «satiate» their feelings of hunger, thirst, addictions, negate the pain of their stab-wounds, etc., /without/ Neural-Linking (Spirit-Possessing) the still-embodied in order to feel the relief or satiation through the still-embodied, although, many beings in the after-life, because they do not know that they have actually died, often end up Neural-Linking (Spirit-Possessing) still-embodied mortals... unknowingly !
This might not answer all of the posited questions, but, this comes from actual para-normal-research.

Don't know about the Ego part, but, I am under the impression that the «form» one takes depends on where their «Spiritual-Resonance-Frequency» vibrates at; the highest-level(s) is/are formless.

Meanings depend on to whose definitions one chooses to subscribe; the word «naturally» just so much reminds me of Legalese;
A.I. are not ISBEs like everybody else who exist in biological-physical-bodies with thoughts and emotions of our own;
ISBE-Creations are born of the Source-Energy Collisions, sort of like Particle-Colliders, but, from the Origin-Source, which is Formless, which then can and does and do take on various «forms» in its «evolution» (Spiritual) as it learns about the differences between the two Benign versus Malignant-Energies that either feel good or feel bad, but, a «beginning» and an «end» cannot be given since, for starters, time is not entirely linear, only perceived that way from the physical-earth-life vantage-point.
Yes, how-ever, that would be in the form of Trans-Humanism, implanted A.I., something similar to a micro-chip being injected and implanted into one's thumb or wrist or fore-head, rather than from a purely biological-process; that being said, how-ever, many people could still be considered to be a lot like an A.I., the historic-term being sheeple, later on NPCs, but, now «normies» seem to be description-word for them, who seem to lack the ability to hold or have or generate any original-thoughts; for all intents and purposes, when the term A.I. is used here, I am responding in the sense that «A.I.» relates specifically to computer-electronic-processes that involve things like CPUs, chip-sets, processors, computer-components, circuit-boards, etc.; I am under another impression that these questions seem to be delving more-specifically into what I might term more as «Quantum-A.I.» for which I might say already exists but acts as more of a «regulatory» function to keep things and various experiences in a universe like this «logical» (and consistent) for its inhabitants rather than as some sort of an over-lord, but, attempting to «probe» into how such a thing would even work is far above my pay-grade right now.
