Although not necessarily related, not directly, anyway, I learned in business that use of automation-systems saves a lot of time; one of those being in regards to auto-responders, and, back then, although it was out of my budget-range, a very sophisticated auto-responder existed which would auto-respond based on certain key-words or combinations of key-words that existed in inquiring e-mail messages, like a sophisticated A.I., although today's A.I. can probably be even more sophisticated given present-day self-learning capabilities;
Why Auto-Responders ? (Not to mention various other automation-systems) The logic from that very successful business back then (and still successful despite the loss of their original entrepreneur back then who died in a racing car crash/accident) was, according to the words of their original-entrepreneur, because they noticed that 90% of inquiries from customers (or potential-customers) tended to be repeats of the same questions, thus, the acronym for : FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Historically, you would normally just have a «secretary» take inquiries for you, make appointments, accept (and thus «screen») phone-calls, but, the FSI obviously isn't particularly structured this way, thus, depending on how the «staff» have «scheduled/structure» their time-use, some CEOs or other such «important» people simply assign one day a week on checking their e-mails or only at a certain time of day, and, even then, they may limit the amount of time that they spend on them, affecting the speed-of-replies, with critical-category things being LIFO (Last-In-First-Out) such as notices of bills to be paid or similar, whilst PR (Public-Relations) categories would most-likely be «processed» on a FIFO-Basis (First-In-First-Out).
Even I learned what it was like, back in the day, for there to be only one of me whilst there were something like 350+ messages and/or comments per day from multiple different people for a variety of reasons; it simply isn't possible to respond to each and every single one unless you have lots of free time on your hands to respond to messages for the whole entire day.
