If you don't yet own crypto, just think about how repressed our world was for the last hundred years. All the richest people were Satan-loving, pleasure-seeking pedophiles (listen to the latest whistleblower about David Rockefeller).
We need the good people to be wealthy. Wealthy people can actually help enact change.
I don't want to sabotage your enthusiasm, but becoming wealthy with crypto nowadays just means to use crypto to get more fiat money. The problem with fiat money though is it's not stable because of built-in inflation. You will lose everything if you remain to trust fiat money (or so called stable coins, who should be called instable coins instead).
Do you know why Bitcoin seems to be so valuable? Because Bitcoin is stable, and dollars are not. What you see is dollars getting less valuable, not Bitcoin getting more valuable.
The real solution is to use crypto as an actual currency, which was the initial idea.
This is exactly the right way to do it. If one currency fails, use the next one.
That's why they will try to push one world currency you can't escape. If they get that far, freeing humans will get much more difficult. Not impossible, but really difficult.
You write as if you are outside the system. I would guess you are a retiree. If so, your retirement still comes from the same old system we are all stuck in. Trading cryptos (not just owning) is probably the best way currently for the average person to get ahead enough financially to be able to even slightly affect the future, assuming it's even possible to do so.

Nobody who is using a computer or smartphone attached to the internet is outside the system. I'm paying for energy and internet access, and when the fiat money eventually fails, I can't pay anymore, like everybody else.
Having a material backed cryptocurrency is not inconceivable, there has been a buzz about it around the internet and I think even brought up in one of the Farsight meetings.
There are many different ways to back currencies. Imagine a (smart) contract creating money based on real world values. And I'm not just speaking about gold. Real world value can be very subjective. I'm working on my own currency right now.
It's all about trust and acceptance. Some remote islands in the pacific had shell money or big stones with a hole in the middle. So why not digital crypto money? RWA tokens will be the future, because of the high transferability and low costs of transfer. Companies will use it to lower their taxes and as backup value for deals, etc. And don't underestimate the economic power of the option to have black money on a digital wallet inaccessible to any tax authority... ;-) People will use it for secure investments like real estate. Even with a small amount of money one can invest into a specific object without the risk of getting fooled by a fund manager/bank. Bitcoin blockchain is too slow for this (RWA / DeFi & Smart Contracts), thus there is the need for other tokens using different technology like ETH.

It *could* be translated that way..... but, there are other options as well.
Probably the best thing about crypto right now is it's got huge profit potential, with relatively little risk. One could easily 5x their money (more, if you risk leveraging) in a relatively short time.
However, in saying this, I do have to advise not going anywhere near KYC (Kill Your Citizens) exchanges, or any on/off-ramping (buying/selling to fiat). That's how you'll end up getting trapped.
