The pi cryptocurrency has some unique properties. It's the first cryptocurrency that can be mined on a typical handheld device like your phone. While cryptocurrencies themselves are quite revolutionary, this one adds the first time of real portability. Anyone can mine. It cannot be a UBI (universal basic income) as the supply of token is limited to 100bn and the mining will end at some point. But it has the potential to bring wealth into poorer regions as it provides a medium of exchange for goods and services apart from banking.
