If the "bad" ETs are about to lose...here's something I've been wondering. Why are they giving humanity a chance at all?
There needs to be a reason for it. Technology, AI, thought, all keep growing. We're flirting with long distance space travel now. It seems they're letting us build the keys for some of us to escape the prison. They've given our military the tech to fly away from death traps. Social media, the spread of information and discourse at least let us consider the possibility of a truth that probably wasn't even conceivable two or three generations ago. Why not just keep us in a hyper-religious, ignorant, medieval state? And if that didn't work...why not just wipe out the whole of civilization with advanced technology?
There are a few possibilities. One is Farsight could be wrong about a lot. We're just waking ourselves up and there's no prison.
However, let's assume there's a prison. Why would they (bad ETs) let it get this far? There must be something they can't control.
One possibility is if everyone died at once, and they just smooshed us like a bunch of ants, the death traps wouldn't work. It would overload their system. If civilization perished, the ISBEs would go nuts and reject the system. It's like if everyone ran to the prison gate at once...the gate breaks down.
Another possibility is that with each pass through the death traps, ISBEs get a little stronger. It's like locking an animal in a room. After a while, the animals grow stronger and more determined by banging against the walls and eventually smash through. Maybe to keep trapping us, they keep needing to make the traps and civilization more complicated. The level of distraction needs to grow. Over generations, the ISBEs keep getting closer to the truth. Another curtain is put up...until a sizable number is right at the exit itself.
Another possibility is that trap itself depends on free will. We have to choose to be trapped. You can't kill an ISBE but you can distract it, get it addicted to forgetting, lure it with something it wants. It works even without death traps. It certainly can work with the traps. Very few people historically emigrate far from home while alive. Probably isn't a much different choice when we're dead.
Human history could be a system. System or not, there have been some crazy experiences and beliefs. Through it all, oddly enough, we're here right now. It seems like there's never been a better time to question everything.
I get the sense there's something the bad ETs are scared of with us. Is it...we actually know how to come back from death better than they do? We have experiences they haven't had. They put us through the death trap maybe 10,000 times. They might be terrified what happens if they get it once. They might process faster than us and fly farther than us and have more tech than us...but, like Jethro Tull said, they don't know how it feels to be Thick as a Brick.
Bricks are strong too. Some bricks are actually creative. Courtney said recently our art basically blows away anything else in the galaxy. Our fresh minds give us a new perspective. The world champion chess player Mikhail Tal went to beginners lessons to learn new things.
We have the advantages of being galactic children. There are disadvantages too but combine that with a little more experience...I'd usually take the young adult in an athletic contest against an aging veteran.
They may be not giving us a chance. They may be running out of ways to contain us.
There is so much greatness on this planet. Genius and beauty—the art and music alone make it worth saving. I've been to every continent, and each place has its own magic. From the vibrant markets of Marrakesh to the tranquil fjords of Norway, there’s a deep connection to humanity in every corner of the Earth. It's in the stories we tell, the landscapes we cherish, and the simple moments of joy we share. Our planet is a living canvas of cultures, ideas, and dreams that deserve to be protected for generations to come.
