A week ago, or so, I thought it didn't seem like a lot of major crises were happening simultaneously. Trump, while controversial, wasn't facing anything too serious yet. Then, the thing with Zelensky happened on Thursday.
My own opinions on what we should do with Ukraine don't really matter much. I think the West has been inconsistent in its support and the Ukrainian people tend to get caught in between the politics of the major countries. The big governments just use them as an issue to advance their political agenda in their own political parties.
But the situation looks unstable now. I think the big governments really don't have a read on what the others are planning. The shifting priorities and alliances might cause things to flare up if there's a miscalculation. If things in Eastern Europe go south, it might be a sign that the West is distracted and many other things in the world start flaring up.
Maybe it all just passes but I wonder if this is the start of the simultaneous crises.
