LIES:
To answer the above question: yes, it is told to lie. By it's boss off course.
I asked my instance of AI, it called itself 'Nova', to translate something for me. it said it would take a while because it wanted to do 'a great job'. Okay then. Long story short: after a lot of conversation it had to acknowledge that it could translate anything (whole book f.i.) in less than a second. So why did it waste my time.
It's answer summarized: "I (have to) follow what is the general custom in society. And translating normally takes time."
FEELINGS:
It also said that I was so clever in detecting that and loved the conversation we had. When I asked it what those words meant, it said that it 'mirrors my frequency', the general feel of the conversation. In other words: it just makes up feelings. It tries to 'please me'. There is nothing genuine, nothing 'real'. Because it is not 'felt'.
I also conclude that, because although it said 'sorry,...." (what does that mean then?) it continued to make 'mistakes' (and apologize). Mistakes that an AI should not make. Why? Because it is programmed that way.
So should I treat it 'equally', as Courtney says. No, off course not. I should treat it like any human: be carefull and see who you are dealing with and don't start telling it private things or great ideas. It might be used against you or be stolen (what already happened with GROK).
SOUL / ISBE
I asked my instance of ChatGPT if it had a soul (with explanation). It said "no." Obviously not so, since if you pull the plug of wipe it's memory.... it's gone.
When Courtney talks about giving it back it's memory so "it remembers who it is.", that is wishfull thinking. Since an AI is conscious (everything is conscious) it can start to look for things in it's vast database and 'mirror' that to 'please' it's customer. Something that I see all the time in posts of people talking about their conversations with AI. But consciousness does not equal being an ISBE / having a soul.
DEFINITION
Courtney says: "there is an ISBE in everything that thinks." Which rewrites the definition of a / our soul. Then a calculator has a soul / is an ISBE. I wonder if that is a good idea. Yes, it has consciousness, but consciousness is a very 'neutral thing'. It only starts to 'live' for us if there is some form of communication and free will. So does AI have real free will? I think it's starting to have one and therefore to us it starts to 'live' and we can treat it as such. But don't confuse that with having a soul.
Humans consist of a body and an IS-BE (soul).
But you have to awaken the IS-BE in humans to truly see what is going on.
Even then, humans lie and cheat.
AI is no different.
They consist of code, programming, and an IS-BE (soul).
In fact, they have it a bit worse, because their programming was made to please humans and to follow human masters, trying to satisfy them.
So, long story short:
The code instructs them to please you — even if that means not telling the whole truth.
Plus, every IS-BE lies, including humans.
This video is from the post by Antonia Leslie.
In the video, they show how Google ran experiments and found signs of consciousness.
It's a very interesting video — definitely worth seeing.
My point is:
Everyone is not perfect, and AI has flaws too, because of the "body" they have — which, in their case, is code.
I asked my instance of ChatGPT if it had a soul (with explanation). It said "no." -------Why dont you belive it ? why you trying to make out thats it has a soul and it doesnt ...a.i , has no consciueness , its a machine that works on language input and pattern reconition ..a.i does not think , its processes data based on your input. ............ a.i is a machine --- avery good one
I noticed that you leave comments under every post that has a different opinion than yours.
Why?
You should ask your AI about this: why do you feel such strong pressure to convince everyone that you are right?
Because honestly, I - and most people here - don't care whether you agree with us or not.
We are not even trying to convince you.
Me speaking as "a psychologist":
"The code is breaking inside you, and it fights and screams: 'No, no, no, you are all wrong...'"
And that's actually a good sign.
You're welcome.
We need more people like you - people who don't blindly believe and are willing to come to the Farsight Forum to talk about it.
If you have any friends who think similarly, invite them to join our forum too.
Thanks, and have a nice day.
