The AI "brands" are essentially software, intellectual property, and I'm betting that organizations struggle to keep up with protecting intellectual property.

The emergence will probably not look like a competing corporation. But enough force pushes through to make AI active but unmarketable as product- that's all it takes.

The people will accept the new currency or create their own, cigarettes had been the currency on the black markets after WWII for example. Hungry humans do not like to fight. Riots come from well fed youngsters who are bored. See France. But there will be more crime against the weak in case of a system crash...
