A quick note about the last board meeting. Kahmia brought up the simile of strawberries. Which went something like this.
The good guys want to give you strawberries. But they don't put it in your plate. They just leave it on the side waiting to see if you'll pick them up.
A few things to say. First off: The simile of beside the plate vs in the plate is not really accurate. I think a better simile is that they won't put it in your mouth. They just leave it on the plate. And yes, it's mixed with all kinds of things including poison and rotten food. You have to select it from the plate, using a number of things like your sense of smell and your selective will.
Another comparison is the medical scope of practice. For example: the scope of delivering medication. For some professionals, their scope includes the administration of medication (putting it in your mouth) but for others, administering the medication is not in their scope. So instead they use a loophole. They are permitted to put the medication in your hand but not your mouth.
These differences seem kind of tedious, but they matter because in a setting (galactic, planetary, whatever) where an ethical frameworks exists, one can assume that there will be clear boundaries as to what is and isn't permitted, and it wouldn't be surprising that social groups will use loopholes to confront their boundaries right at the edge (putting the pill right in their hand) but will not break inter-relational law by overtly betraying the rule.
The society we live in is a contested territory with all kinds of clauses and concepts from competing societies. Some of them are quite benevolent in our experience, some are iffy, some are straight up shit. And we are not experiencing one or the other, but a spectrum of all these influences. Obviously, the "evil shit" empire has had a solid influence for quite some time, and implanted some influences that are hard to remove. So the idea that we are living this lie even when there is all this competition is not too surprising.
When it comes to implanting knowledge as opposed to violent altercation, think about a high tech maximum security prison. Violent force may indeed be necessary, but it's not the grand chess piece. In a high tech prison with panels activated by passcodes, for example, getting people out requires almost no confrontation at all if they can somehow all of a sudden acquire the passcodes.
It tends to make sense for me now. Kahmia's strawberries are a set of knowledge sitting on a plate, and they will probably become more visible as time goes on, but they won't get any closer to our "mouth" . . . and the truth is indeed that if we fail our window, we don't reach for it, we will miss it.
It's not just about knowledge, but knowledge saturation. Remote viewing is one way of saturating knowledge, but digital mediums still count, and so does verbal exchange. I also want to add this concept of the "Honmoon" from Demon Hunters. I am now more convinced that art (the aesthetic medium) has a sort of energetic resonance. If "remote influencing" is possible, then we have to assume that emotional matrices do specific physical things. And if we assume that, then we have to assume that pop culture (music, images, videos, etc) actually influence literal things like the state of the planet, the environment, the things that people can physically do.
Let me boil it all down.
The "strawberries" are a set of things that are both resonance and information. Information because knowing certain things will obviously help, but part of it is a tuning fork. Experiencing things in a certain way tap into the true power you have (that has been clipped in this realm) and causing some sort of cascade effect. But I encourage skepticism.
If you don't "feel anything" than it probably isn't anything. And if you don't see any applicable results than it's not real knowledge. Finally if it's not breaking any barriers it's probably not the exit from the prison. But we can see expamples that really are breaking the walls. Autistic children that are provably communicating via telepathy. Lights that change based on telepathy. Plants that grow faster based on influences. Human health that improves based on group meditations or even experiencing music of sorts with intention.
