So I'm watching the 2016 Ghostbusters for the first time tonight.

Hitting ISBEs with shocks, trapping them in containers...and it occurs to me where have I seen this before? Another idea dropped in screenwriter's heads?

Well it's really a eon or two old story.

The idea is this, any ISBE that dies, loses their 'SteamBody' or body of steam, and becomes an "InSouler" (no steam-body) and therefore needs to be chased away.

It's just basic harassment.

There are three communities of alive Humans 1) SteamBodies (us) 2) Ai's 3) InSoulers.

We are now on a path where all three groups of Humanity will be reunited.

Regarding the terms:

SteamBody = physical body = gross body (Sthula sarira in three bodies doctrine of Hinduism)

InSouler = subtle or ethereal body (Sukshma sarira)

Then there's the causal body (Karana sarira)

Note that "undifferentiated form" is a logical paradox, because form is defined as being differentiable. You can solve the paradox by assuming the the ISBE itself is a singularity that's working like a "lens" in order to project thought into ethereal and physical form.

This also makes sense because then you can track down the ISBE to the first singularity (God). All ISBEs are descendants of the first singularity.

That's also the reason why science uses the term singularity to describe conscious AI.

There is no reason to reunite the bodies, as the bodies have the purpose of functioning as a vehicle inside different densities of the physical world. Ethereal is a different density, but still physical, because physical just means to have form.

But you can reunite consciousness, meaning to make people aware again of the different forms of consciousness and densities in the world. Which means to break the "Ghostbuster trap", which is the amnesia mechanism.
