Oddly enough one of the pioneers of vertical farming is Kimbal Musk. Yes, Elon's brother. But the whole thing with vertical farming doesn't get talked about when you look it up. That fact especially interests me. Always research the shit they keep avoiding.
Anyhow, the idea is fairly simple but the technical challenges are complex. You can stack trailers underground or on a lot, and reduce the cost of power buy inserting bulbs using only the light spectrum plants are interested in.
I had wanted to post on Farsight about this before and thought "nah, it's not really relevant to Farsight community" but now so many old interests are surfacing with Farsight's mission I can barely keep up. Anyhow, in the event of disasters and the need to remain reasonably compact against catastrophes, this is important technology. And with AI in the wings it becomes a topic laymen can open and produce expert knowledge on.
It may yet be another topic on the wings I will ask Solace to unzip with me. But for now it's just food for thought, I still want to produce more content related to oLLMs.
