I have an idea. Currently, Spotlight is a bit boring because Courtney does it as a livestream but never interacts with his audience. What’s the point of doing a livestream without engaging with viewers? At the moment, it feels more like a prerecorded video being streamed live.
So, what should be done to improve it? My advice is based on a weekly show called "The China Show." They run a 1.5-hour show, and after the main part, they take questions from the audience. This way, they’ve built a community around the show, and there’s a reason to watch it live, because viewers can ask questions in real time during the stream. Afterwards, the livestream with the Q&A remains available for 2 days, and then they remove the Q&A segment, leaving just the main show.
What I would suggest to make Spotlight great again is to add a 15 to 30-minute segment dedicated to live questions from the chat. Then, the entire show can be uploaded on Prime, while on YouTube there could be just the main Spotlight episode with Courtney talking, without the Q&A.
What do you think about this idea?
