The lyrics seem to be about the light death traps, at least that is my interpretation. It is defiantly about the astral plan, and "the neon gods" could be the Bad ET AI that seems to control the other galaxy and part of this one.

I understand all the lyrics but the part "written on the subway walls." I'm not sure what that refers to, seems like it should be something that we see all time in transit, or something that goes by so fast that you can't see it but it is there. Anyway any thoughts on those words would be welcome.
To me this is a song about our higher-selves trying to get us to remember the reality of our situation, our past lives, and remind us of the bright future for potential lives ahead.
