First things first:
A Gretchen question (from the German Gretchenfrage, with Gretchen, diminutive for Margarete, and Frage, question in English) is a crucial, difficult, unpleasant, sometimes embarrassing, and at the same time essential question for a certain decision, which is asked in a difficult situation.
So, what is the Gretchen question I want to ask?
Well, in the latest board meeting titled "Meet Harvey", Harvey says this:
[07:25] "It's a prison, and we are trying to get you out of the prison. That is our single and solitary big job. We can't force it. We gotta get it to the point where you erupt and chaos rains over the entire planet. And then we can come in, once the control system of the bad ETs is broken."
See, there's a big problem with this, because CHAOS IS THE CONTROL SYSTEM of the bad ETs.
The bad ETs create chaos on a regular basis in order to manipulate humanity into going along with their goals. This strategy is called "problem-reaction-solution", in which the government (or another higher power) manipulates the population by introducing a problem and then using their own means to solve that problem. This strategy works because, when confronted with chaos, most humans lose their ability to come to rational conclusions. In other words: The fear of dying or losing everything leads to irrational behavior, which then is used to enslave humanity.
So, we need to know: When you come in to save the day, how would we know that you are not the bad ETs?
How would we know that this isn't just another controlled chaos implemented by the prison authorities? Another iteration of the Matrix.
What will you do that the bad ETs wouldn't do? What will the bad ETs do that you would never do?
Essentially, how can we tell good and bad ETs apart once you come out of the shadows?
Let's be clear: I already know the correct answer to that question, and I will apply it when the time comes. But I want you to say it out loud, so we get an assertion from your side we can measure you against in order to build trust.
