Dear Farsight,
Just a few thoughts / requests / recommendations for the new year after contemplation.
*The separation of entertainment and information layers*
I would like to see you make one stream that is deliberately boring and statistical. Interviews with your remote viewers the way you have been doing it is valuable. Please don't change it. That is-
-remote viewers produce content *only by themselves* after isolated in a room. This cannot include digital information, because it broadens the scope of what they could theoretically access. Think of it like the standards of a jury in a court case. Whatever the jurors do not access, neither do the remote viewers
-After the full "boring" publication ... you go crazy. I mean digital arts, movies, commentaries, the whole 9 yards.
-Think of a title for the two streams. You may as well use codes like "alpha" and "beta" or something. I would like us as a Farsight audience to start using lingo like "are you talking about Farsight alpha or Farsight Beta?" or whatever you decide. Whatever two titles you come up with, I want you to pound it into our heads. Repeatedly bring up the two themes. Start off a video somewhere early on announcing what stream it's under. Particularly the "boring stream". Like: "this clip of Farsight alpha was filmed on..." - honestly I think Jeffrey Mishlove has cornered the style of it. He interviews whomever he needs, and adds pictures in a reserved sort of image space. I do like the 4 screen system where you have
-The interviewer
-The remote viewer being interviewed ,(*after they've produced a full monologue*)
-The target references (including all labels or those relevant at the time throughout the interview)
-the paper or light board sessions.
By the way, the light boards is a powerful piece of evidence to support you. It indicates
-They are using a specialized studio. Especially if say there's a Farsight logo etched at the corner of the glass
-it's not embellishment, all of it justifies an operation for clarity.
The only thing I might add to the light board sessions is that the RVer may have had copies of paper sessions beforehand. They can literally hold pages up to the light board and later an edit cut could show a zoom of it superimposed. This establishes that they did it in the studio beforehand and they are fully endorsing the claim of what they saw (as opposed to chosen cuts by editorial, even if the editor is very cautious and thoughtful)
And yes the "alpha" side is appropriate for the meetings at the beach and the board meetings. Society might have a hard time with it but as long as you are focused on plain *simple* recording practices it should be fine. Good mics, good cameras, *fixed positions* and even a panoramic shot of the space even if that includes a bunch of technical equipment in the panoramic. Helps establish exactly what it's like where you are.
Note that the "alpha" side is not to restrict the emotional displays of the remote viewers because emotional response helps establish the viewer's psychological link rather than a rote script. I know you don't do rote scripts but it's good to consistently establish
Also: hire a statistician at least once to help establish your procedure parameters. Show their review document. Not that you have to pay the statistician every session but something like a document explaining: "provided they consistently do all procedures with the operational rules they've demonstrated, listed below, I can verify that ... "
*In the entertainment layer, stop restricting yourselves*
Once you establish that you had a non-entertainment layer and are now shifting into the entertainment mode, you are free to roam. Be bold, opinionated, add music and video. Just be plain crazy.
This actually helps establish the scientific layer because we will clearly see the contrast between the two. The more over-the-top you are in the entertainment layer, the more the contrast shows.
PS: My intention in this is partly damage control. I am being an alarmist but I see the wave of works coming to discredit you. I know a-hole pseudo-skeptics are not a new threat known to Farsight but I'm telling you they are camping up to a whole new second wave, between forums and also YouTube style review.
