From reading Alien Interview, you'd be under the impression that the Domain's logo is a triangle opening into a circle. It can be seen here: https://alieninterview.org/2024/09/the-domain-symbol/
However, that logo was also a logo for atheism: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Symbols_of_atheism
Alien Interview was published in 2008. However, the logo used for atheism was created in 2007 by Diane Reed.
Has Spencer just been copying and pasting a logo off 2007's internet?
He clarifies later in the above blog post: The “symbol” of “The Domain”, described by Nurse Matilda is not the actual symbol of The Domain, The Realm or The Territory, suggested by Nurse Matilda. It is merely an artistic representation of a symbol which could purvey the concept she described in her letter. It was arbitrarily inserted into the original PDF version of the book which was made available for free distribution on the internet, but not included in the original printed edition.
That's fair enough, but "it's an artistic representation of a symbol" is an odd way of saying he copied and pasted the logo from Diane Reed. On page 24 of the book, Matilda states: This is the symbol of "The Domain" ®", with the atheism logo appearing on the following page (https://archive.org/details/alien-interview-lawrence-spencer-matilda-mac-elroy_202407/page/n23/mode/2up)
And with its frequent use in the book, I don't recall him ever stating that it's only a similar stand-in for the real thing. Going by the material itself, you'd again be under the impression that it "was" the symbol.
