So it seems that Farsight is deleting threads. Like those pinned threads that had like milli inputs from the forum users. It didn't just get unpinned, it got entirely deleted. What about all the content that everyone else put on there?
Allegedly they're also banning people. And it gets done quietly without comment. That's kinda disturbing.
The stuff that people are picking on, I think it's ridiculous. I really don't care what Yeme wears or doesn't wear. That's her business. I really don't care if they're not actually on the ships (I still wish they'd say they're "visiting remotely" or something). But I do care about censored information.
In the end, Farsight is Farsight. They are an LLC and that ties them to all kinds of sick corporate rules run by the prison. That could be some of the motivation behind deleting and banning and all that junk.
I got approached about another forum created by the "banned" but was discouraged from sharing it here because Courtney would see it. That's a very weird reason to not share it. I don't know. Whatever.
Ok, but it's not worth whining about it without some suggested action. Aside from independent forums, here's another thing I wondered. NFT-based forums. Where you put in text and basically no one can delete it. Ever. You could have it automated with bots that censor for spam. Spam is difficult to have because if the forum is all kinds of copy pasted garbage it becomes untenable quickly. On the other hand, you can have all kinds of uncensored opinions. I'm not saying you couldn't come up with some very nasty stuff via text but look - P - R - I - S - O - N P - L - A - N - E - T. What's the priority here, making everyone comfortable or putting information out in the public eye.
Anyways deleting and banning sucks. That's all.
