This is just a reminder to everyone and anyone that the "weird" is fuel.
There are people who no longer post that I'm very sad to see not present.
There are very few times I felt "bothered" by messages on the forum. Even ines that were personal attacks to me actually had value in my eyes. I didn't accept them literally.
There was one guy that was after me for like a month before imploding and leaving. I still couldn't tell what it was about but oh well. I didn't expect them to leave or delete things but I was certainly willing to troll back.
Occasionally there is a big "farsight is trash" post, and I'm still 80% fanboy here (the deleted pinned threads lost 10% fyi) but I don't mind those. Their posts are still interesting.
I wouldn't be bothered even with a big "you people are all idiots" post. Though I can imagine the tackled fray that would result in,
There are lots of occasions threads get posted with dense technicality and a bit of "well does this actually do anything at all?" - but they have value.
There are occasional flame wars with big mad exchanges. I stay a bit quiet. But honestly I love those too.
I'm pretty sure ... whoever you are, whatever you debate saying ... you couldn't really offend me (well I *could* talk back) but it would still have value. Or no one gets it but it would "archive" for now and maybe someone will.
My motivation in this is because I sense a lot of sideliners. They say to themselves: "if I say what I'm really thinking it won't be appreciated." Well it's true that it might fuel a fray but you have to just care about that a little less.
And to those allegedly banned. Be aggressive. I don't care. Use a credit card to create a new profile under a new email, immediately cancel your subscription, and post your stuff. Be like the mole in whack-a-mole. "thought you could hammer me down, punks?"
I post a bunch of meaningless trash and you don't see me too concerned.
Well this has been a public service announcement brought to you by spam.
