It's pretty infuriating to hear what white collar criminals are doing. But I often wonder why the "dirtbag media Inc." likes to focus on the more heinous of white colkar crime.
Another thing I noticed that the "screwed mainstream" AI has a habit of focusing on "govern everything, monitor everything" philosophy even when I try to steer an alternative
It then just hit me.
There are two ways to address white collar crime.
One way is to produce a more robust society, where monetary and identity value is just hard to copy. One could argue that tgis was why ID systems were created, why banks were created. So then why do we see all these problems and extra services to protect your "privacy" ... doesn't that imply that the banks and ID services are not doing their job?
Sure it does, but that was not their true purpose. It was made, like everything today, with planned obsolescence.
Well back to the first way of doing things. If authentication is done with independent methods, it's more robust, but it takes longer for people to build up robust networks, and in the process, grandma gets hacked and loses her money.
On the other hand ... if you get collectively desperate and paranoid ... and you beg "please banks, lawyers, lawmakers, policy gluttons ... make us another centralized system that strips away more rights and gives me more false sense of security"
Anyways. Simple point. This is the purpose if all the "white collar scum" reports in the mainstream - that mainstream, I've been convinced for decades, made up of some of the most disgusting humans you could find.
So my position: hack the sh*t out of everything. I'm not saying all of it will be moral. But a paradigm is being forced. Real protection will be built out of exposure to the problem. Fake protection will be created by the fake playbook.
