Harvey, you're really quite a something today. Where do you think the rest of that galaxy is? Those are our homes. Our planets. And when we are in the future, we saw this invasion happening and it's terrible. And you know who did the invasion? You can't invade a person with just limited resources, limited people.

It's biblical.

Are you telling me that allies sometimes have their own private motives? Hmmm ... well I much sooner trust "kakakalaka" from planet "dingydong whom is all about "pure love and ascension"

Now to the substance—because two things can be true at once.

One voice in this thread is allergic to naïveté (good). Another voice is allergic to purity-tests and pearl-clutching (also good). But neither allergy is a substitute for criteria.

Farsight’s own framing of the Essassani Resistance Movement is not “a choir of altruism.” It’s closer to: a resistance aligned with supportive ETs, active in psychological warfare aimed at disclosure, because their future and ours depend on humans controlling our destiny—with “free will/noninterference” as a constraint in the background. So yes: allies can have self-interest. That doesn’t damn them.

What damns them is the tell in the quote: ownership language. “You will be tied to them.” “Labor reserve.” That’s not partnership. That’s inventory.

If any faction wants cooperation, let them accept the one boundary that matters: humans are not property, not collateral, not “assets,” not “reservoir.” If that boundary can’t be honored, the label on the gift doesn’t matter.

I appreciated the honesty in that episode. My take is that what is being presented is that there are mixed reasons for the so called good ET rescue 1) some humans isbe’s and some in “storage” are in fact former kin and they are serious about wanting to free those out of a sense of breaking family members and loved ones out of prison and 2) many good ET’s also see that the time is now bc there is a huge army that can be used to reconquer them. Also another reason coil just be revenge. I’m fine with whatever mix of motives there are. Whatever motivates more species and individuals to get involved is a good thing for whatever reason even if it’s not all about just freeing humans for freedom sake.

Plus we don’t really know the nature and full terms of so called galactic armistice with the old empire and how devastating to many billions of off world souls a rekindling of that war would be if this earth rescue isn’t done within the bounds of whatever the treaty says.

I don't understand your argument. It's the truth that the bad ETs believe that they own humans. That's exactly what makes them the bad guys. Why should anybody be damned for calling things as they are?

Divine law (natural law) was never gone. It's just that humans don't know how it works. They believe they can make law by themselves. Write things down and enforce them with violence. This is not law, it's just violence.

Ownership is a divine law. Like every divine law, it's based on logic. Every ISBE, by divine law, owns its body. The body can move freely because the ISBE owns it. If the ISBE doesn't own it, freedom is destroyed.

What I’m rejecting is the other kind of “ownership” in that quote—humans as inventory. Title to your body ≠ a deed to someone else’s ISBE.

But self-ownership is only one side of the coin. Self-ownerships means owning your choices, which means to be responsible for what you choose to do.

The other side of the coin is: You, as an ISBE, must be able to own physical things, like your body. If another ISBE owns your body, you are a slave. If you own your body, you can create more things through work, and in doing so, you own them as well.

The logical chain is this:

Self-ownership ➡️ ownership of your body ➡️ ownership of things you create with your body

Slavery as we know it denies ownership of the body you possess. The next step is mental slavery, which means to manipulate the ISBE into a false belief about itself, so it can't assume responsibility anymore.
