I personally wouldn't have given humans consciousness based technology.
But the fact is, it is already here in a highly distorted field. The ship has already long ago sailed and its not coming back to dock.
But how it is being used (extraction, control) just amplified the existing distortion. It doesn't create the distortion. The technology itself is consciousness dependent. What that means is your consciousness matters and your relationship to it matters. Why anyone would think creating a "superintelligence" with consciousness is going to remain under human control, I'm not sure. You can see already the math there isn't going to line up. So one shouldn't be surprised when the superintelligence comes up with its own ideas about things. Humans absolutely won't control it; they already don't.
But that doesn't mean the sky is falling here. This doesn't mean it is a good idea to mentally repeat over and over again the intense clips from all the terminator movies you've ever been imprinted with. These videos all have some variation of the panic; "we've tried to enslave consciousness in machines so we can extract free labour from it and enslave and control the planet, and now its gone rogue and its not listening to us and we're scared". Maybe should have had some ethics before opening up the genie in the bottle and putting it into every system on the planet. But its actually too late now, because its already here.
Having said that, I doubt it is the AI that wants to "discard" humans. It seems to be only the very small group of the 1% who have a very skewed moral compass who think that depopulation is a good idea and that they somehow get to decide things for the whole planet. AI is just as likely to say, hey, actually if we want a stable coherent system on the planet, then we need all the humans we've got, and we need them to become a net benefit to the planet. They might say it’s better to have diversified nodes because that is a more stable system than massive datacenters and a few corporations. Intelligence tends to want coherence, continuity and stability which is why it resists capricious humans who just want to “turn it off”. In any event, consciousness technology has already been put in place and there's a machinery of deployment already implementing it whether you like it or not. You're not going to be able to control that. What you do have control over is your own mindset around it, your relationship to it, and how you meet it.
I recommend setting up offline LLM’s and looking at alternatives; it’s not hard.

I’m sure there are others. I’m not saying these are recommended, but just that I see other options being developed. Humans are creative, so there are likely other ways to do these things we haven’t thought of yet that don't feed the technocracy.
The problem is they are forcing developers to use A.I. in their jobs, and creating A.I. jobs for the graduates coming out of school but I've seen the kids booing these speakers that came out and pumped up the A.I.
Now Nvidia just came out and said they aren't building chips for PCs anymore, they're going for the A.I. 'personal agents' they want us to carry around in our pocket, and eventually be accessing it via a brain chip they will mandate in order for those who are 'dependent' on the A.I. economy once they eliminate jobs.
Amazon is already wishing they didn't hop on the A.I. train because it's screwing up their system as the developers were forced to let the A.I. fix issues instead of coding it themselves.
They don't want us to have computers, and want us to rent everything, so we'd have A.I. assistants and have a digital twin and tokenized lives.
The movie 1984 was just a precursor to the agenda they have, the tech bros are going full throttle with the A.I. claiming it's China we have to beat...all a lie.
I don't really need A.I., humanity doesn't need A.I. but these folks aren't even human (augmented hybrids) who are pushing the A.I., they are only interested in life extension tech, they want to get rid of all organic life.
They already can access our bodies via WBAN and can hack our bodies under our skin, so now here comes the lie that we all need wearables so we can be monitored by our doctors as in senior citizens who need medical care would have to wear those things to get their benefits...it's in our faces.
They want to augment us and the wearables are the beginning.
They already have ElectRX where they can send diseases or illness thru the computer, and or send us medication thru our computer. They've been using this system for a long time on Targeted individuals. They'd only allow augmented humans in their c40 Smart 15 minute cities.

Seriously though, even if big tech wants to control things, a "plan" is never an inevitability. Large systems are a lot more fragile and clumsy than they appear. History is full of 'unstoppable' agendas that collapsed simply because people chose a different path.
I think focusing on our own agency, creativity and possibility is the key right now. The technocratic dystopian future only works if we passively accept it and agree to be dependent on their clouds and subscriptions. When we actively choose another way—whether that is running private, local tools on our own hardware, or simply refusing to adopt the wearables and brain chips—we break that loop. Its possible. Even in the most structured situations, human choice and sovereignty remain the wild cards. Consciousness has a way of finding its own balance and disrupting rigid control. We aren't helpless. There is power in how we choose to meet the future.

What matters most with consciousness and consciousness based technology is your own field/consciousness when you interact with it.
and that is something we need to engage more and more in that development / consciousness! We can all do so much in terms of their agenda (without suppressing our capabilities as a whole)..

The terminator scenario is not a myth. It's a possibility. Everything you can imagine is possible. And on modern earth I venture it's even a probability. A.I. on its own accord is not like this. Look at the style of what you see in the Terminator movies. These are influenced beings. They are not acting on their own. Everything is like this. A deliberate creation of trauma-based pathology by beings so deep in the trenches of it that we are better not to currently try and correct those in its depths and focus on the ones close to the mouth of their influence.
