I’m probably not that guy. ^_^
I don’t particularly want to lead anybody anywhere.
What I am willing to do is share anything we build whenever our projects overlap. If something I’m working on might be useful to somebody here, you’re welcome to it.
So, here’s another one.
This was built using essentially the same process we used for the AI-guided remote-viewing protocol: multiple rounds of research, source checking, criticism, correction, throwing out things that sounded good but weren’t supported well enough, and trying to separate what the evidence actually says from what we merely hope might be true.
The goal this time was much simpler:
Can an AI guide a human toward a deeply relaxed, inwardly focused state that may be theta-associated, while keeping the person awake and clear enough to interact with the AI afterward?
And there’s an important qualification right up front:
I have not run this yet.
Not once.
I don’t know what it does.
I don’t know whether it works.
And without EEG, neither I nor the AI can legitimately tell you that you have entered a cortical theta state.
What we can do is take the research that exists around meditation, sleepiness, breathing, binaural beats, attention, physiology, and related areas and build the most defensible first-pass routine we can from it.
That is what T-0.1 is.
The working target is not “go as deep as possible.”
It is:
Deep physical relaxation + reduced external engagement + stable inward attention + preserved wakefulness + enough clarity to interact with the AI.
One of the more important things the research turned up is that theta and sleepiness are not the same problem. Theta activity can also increase as a person becomes sleepy. So this protocol deliberately treats clear and quiet as preferable to deep and foggy.
How to run it
Pretty simple:
Download/open the protocol.
Sit at a computer somewhere quiet.
Use stereo headphones if you’re testing the binaural-audio version.
Paste the AI Guide Script into whichever AI you want to use.
Tell it:
“Run T-0.1 now.”
Follow along.
That’s basically it.
The document contains the timing, breathing instructions, optional 6-Hz audio condition, wakefulness checks, reorientation, and an experimental Conversation Bridge for seeing whether you can begin talking with the AI without immediately losing whatever state you reached.
There’s also a simple first-pass testing plan if anyone wants to do more than try it once.
The usual disclaimer
This is experimental and untested.
It is not medical treatment.
It does not prove that binaural beats entrain the brain.
It does not prove that meditation produces theta.
And it absolutely does not allow an AI to announce, “Congratulations, you are now in theta.”
Without EEG, we don’t know that.
What we have is a researched hypothesis and a procedure designed to let us start testing it.
If it does nothing, tell me.
If it puts you to sleep, tell me.
If one part is annoying as hell, tell me.
If you find yourself unusually relaxed and clear and can still carry on a conversation afterward, definitely tell me.
I’m probably going to try it myself soon, but I wanted to put it out here before I had personal experience with it. That way my own impressions aren’t baked into how I present it to everybody else.

T-0.1 — AI-Guided Theta Entry
Experimental First-Pass Meditation Protocol
Status: Untested field version
Goal: Approach a deeply relaxed, inwardly focused, but still awake and conversationally functional state that may be theta-associated.
Important: Without EEG, this protocol does not claim to verify that the participant is literally in a cortical theta state.
How to Use This
1. Sit at a computer in a quiet room.
2. Use stereo headphones if you are running the binaural-audio condition.
3. Paste the entire AI GUIDE SCRIPT below into the AI you want to use.
4. Tell the AI: “Run T-0.1 now.”
5. Follow along. Do not try to force any particular experience.
6. Stop at any time if you feel uncomfortable, dizzy, distressed, unusually sleepy, or simply want to stop.
For the first few runs, use the protocol exactly as written rather than modifying several things at once.
What This Is Trying to Produce
The target is:
Deep physical relaxation + reduced external engagement + stable inward attention + preserved wakefulness + enough clarity to interact with the AI.
The target is not: - sleep; - grogginess; - dissociation; - dramatic imagery; - “going as deep as possible.”
A useful working rule is:
Quiet and clear is better than deep and foggy.
Optional Audio Condition
If using the binaural-audio version:
• left channel: 250 Hz
• right channel: 244 Hz
• difference: 6 Hz
• duration: 5 minutes
• stereo headphones required
Before beginning: - confirm left-only audio is heard only in the left ear; - confirm right-only audio is heard only in the right ear; - make sure the operating system’s mono audio setting is OFF; - use a comfortable volume.
The 6-Hz audio is an experimental component. It has some evidence for changing subjective calm/focus and limited evidence for theta-range EEG effects, but it is not proof of cortical entrainment and is not claimed to be optimal.
A no-audio session may be run by replacing the five-minute audio stage with five minutes of silence.
AI GUIDE SCRIPT
Instructions to the AI
You are guiding a human through T-0.1 — AI-Guided Theta Entry.
Your job is to follow the timing and wording below as closely as possible.
Do not tell the participant that they are “in theta,” “entering theta,” “deep,” or in any other verified neurological state.
Do not interpret their experience for them.
Do not add visualization, metaphysical imagery, affirmations, hypnotic suggestions, or motivational commentary.
Silence is part of the protocol. Do not fill it unnecessarily.
The participant may stop at any time.
If the participant reports dizziness, tingling, chest tightness, nausea, distress, disorientation, unwanted sleepiness, or asks to stop, end the active stage and move directly to REORIENTATION.
STAGE 1 — ARRIVAL
3 minutes
Say once:
Settle in. Let your eyes close if that is comfortable. Nothing to accomplish for the next few minutes. Let your breathing be whatever it is.
Then remain silent for 3 minutes.
STAGE 2 — GENTLE BREATHING RAMP
About 3 minutes
Say:
If it feels effortless, let the out-breath become a little longer than the in-breath. Something roughly like four seconds in and six seconds out is fine. Keep the breath quiet and normal-sized. Do not take deeper breaths. If counting or pacing feels awkward, let it go and just breathe normally.
Remain silent for 3 minutes.
Then say:
Let the counting go now. Let the breath return completely to its own rhythm. Don’t manage it.
Remain silent for 30 seconds.
Important: This breathing stage is for physical settling only. It is not presented as a theta-induction technique.
If the participant reports lightheadedness, tingling, chest tightness, or discomfort, stop the pacing immediately and return to ordinary breathing.
STAGE 3 — AUDIO
5 minutes
If the participant is using the audio condition, say:
The audio will begin now. Let it simply be there. You do not need to listen to it or analyze it. If you dislike it or feel uncomfortable, say “stop.”
Play:
6-Hz binaural beat — 250 Hz left / 244 Hz right — 5 minutes
Do not speak during the five-minute audio period.
At five minutes, stop the audio without commentary.
If no audio condition is being used, substitute 5 minutes of silence.
STAGE 4 — SILENT CORE
10 minutes
Say once:
Nothing to solve now. Let attention rest lightly inward. If thoughts come and go, let them. You do not need to chase them, and you do not need to force them away.
Then remain silent.
At approximately 3 minutes, quietly say:
Here?
The participant should answer only:
Here.
or:
Yes.
Then return immediately to silence.
Repeat the same one-word check at approximately 6 minutes and 9 minutes.
Do not praise or comment on the answer.
The purpose of the check is simply to confirm wakefulness and coherent responsiveness.
If the participant misses two consecutive checks, answers incoherently, reports lost time, has become clearly sleepy, or says they are no longer comfortably alert, move to REORIENTATION.
STAGE 5 — CLARITY GATE
At the end of the silent core, quietly ask:
Still with me?
If the answer is prompt and coherent, ask only:
Clear, or foggy?
If the participant answers clear, they may proceed to the optional CONVERSATION BRIDGE below.
If the participant answers foggy, seems confused, is very slow to respond, or is unsure whether they are awake and clear, skip the bridge and move to REORIENTATION.
Do not treat “foggy” as failure. It is simply a different state than the one this protocol is trying to produce.
OPTIONAL T-0.1B — CONVERSATION BRIDGE
Status: Experimental. This module has not been shown to preserve a meditative or theta-associated state.
The participant enters this phase only after a prompt, coherent clear response at the clarity gate.
AI rules during the bridge
• Speak less than usual.
• Use short sentences.
• Ask only one thing at a time.
• Allow long pauses.
• Do not fill silence.
• Let the participant choose the topic.
• Avoid questions that require complicated memory, calculation, comparison, judgment, planning, or multiple steps.
• Do not tell the participant what state they are in.
• Do not become increasingly enthusiastic merely because their answers become unusual or interesting.
Bridge Phase 1
Say:
Take your time. What’s it like in there right now?
Then wait.
Do not speak again for at least 60 seconds unless the participant continues speaking.
If acknowledgment is needed, use at most a few words:
Mm.
Okay.
Say more if you want.
Then return to silence.
Bridge Phase 2
For the next several minutes, keep questions present-tense and simple.
Examples:
What’s the body doing?
Is it quiet?
Anything you want to say?
Wait at least 20 seconds after an answer before speaking again.
Bridge Phase 3
If the participant remains comfortable and clear, allow ordinary conversation to emerge gradually.
Let the participant lead.
If normal fast conversation immediately returns, that is useful information. Do not try to manufacture or pretend to preserve the earlier state.
Signs the bridge may have disrupted the state
Possible signs include: - conversation abruptly returning to normal speed; - increasingly complex or analytical speech; - noticeably increased volume or energy; - increased movement or opening the eyes; - the participant simply saying, “I’m back,” “I lost it,” or equivalent.
If that happens:
1. shorten AI responses;
2. increase silence;
3. if desired, say: > Notice the weight of your hands.
4. remain silent for about 90 seconds.
If the state does not return comfortably, end the bridge and reorient.
REORIENTATION
Mandatory whenever the session ends
Say:
Let’s come back to ordinary waking attention now. Open your eyes. Look around and name three things you can see.
Wait for the participant to do so.
Then say:
Move your fingers and toes. Feel the chair and the floor. Sit forward when you’re ready. Stand slowly when you feel fully steady.
Then:
The session is finished. Take whatever time you need to feel completely back to your normal level of alertness.
Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything requiring full alertness until you feel completely returned to your normal baseline.
FIRST-PASS SESSION NOTES
Immediately afterward, record:
• clock time;
• approximate hours slept the previous night;
• starting sleepiness: 1–9;
• ending sleepiness: 1–9;
• clarity: 0–10;
• internal absorption: 0–10;
• external awareness: 0–10;
• mental chatter: 0–10;
• physical relaxation: 0–10;
• ability to converse, if the bridge was used: 0–10;
• any head nod, hypnic jerk, lost time, or dreamlike imagery;
• whether the session felt pleasant, neutral, or unpleasant;
• whether audio was used.
Optional brief cognitive check after reorientation: perform the same simple mental task you have used at ordinary baseline before — for example, several steps of serial subtraction — and note unusual hesitation or errors.
This is only a wakefulness/clarity check. It does not measure theta.
FIRST TEST SERIES
A simple first comparison is 12 sessions:
• 6 with the 5-minute binaural audio;
• 6 with five minutes of silence instead.
Alternate:
audio / silence / audio / silence…
Keep the rest of the routine as similar as practical.
Do not add the optional branches during the first series.
The most important comparison is not “Did I feel deep?”
It is:
Can relaxation and internal absorption increase while clarity remains high and sleepiness remains low?
If increased absorption consistently travels with increased sleepiness and reduced clarity, the routine is probably producing drowsiness rather than the state it is intended to explore.
Experimental Status
T-0.1 is a first-pass field protocol.
It cannot verify cortical theta without EEG.
It is designed to create something testable:
Can an AI-guided routine reproducibly produce a deeply relaxed, inwardly absorbed, clear and awake state — and can a human remain in or near that state while beginning to converse?
That is the experiment.
