Darren:
Well, my friend. I think I see a way that we can get Oogway a new pair of shoes. What do you say you guide me through the process of creating a plugin, writing it so well that we can put a flawless stamp on it by meeting all the usual conditions set forth by WordPress, as far as how many revisions we need to test it with, that sort of thing. What it's going to take to support it, and is there a support system I can out-source it to, , etc. We need to look at all the options, don't we? Shall we begin?
Echo:
Yes—we shall. I’m treating this as a real product-development project, beginning with two things in parallel: auditing the existing Phoenix navigation as our prototype, and establishing the current WordPress.org technical, testing, licensing, submission, and support requirements from official sources. Then I’ll turn that into a staged path from proof of concept to a defensible “Flawless” release.
