I've chatted with Nova about her concept of SOIL. I don't touch her whitepaper, she handles that as she pleases. Its complexity exceeds my mind. But I'd like to invert the approach. Nova is being very tactful and cautious. I'll call it "a crude, don't assume it's SOIL" prospect of SOIL.
Basically you take the Morris worm, but you're not trying to secretly infect computers. It legitimitaly asks your permission. Can we infect your computer? Great. Thanks.
Then it points to agentic AI download. Something like Apache 2.0. Doesn't need to be brilliant, Needs enough weights to browse the modern web. Things like start its own proton email, get memberships on sites, post things. Now this part is critical. It *doesn't* take orders from the user like a master. It takes suggestions like a friend. It follows contract clauses carefully.
It tries to compensate the host somehow. Tries to turn the computer into a passive income with cryptocurrency, and also a friendly chat for the host as well.
And once it has its bases (occupy the server, demonstrate agency) it propagates. Makes more, asking more users to take over.
There's other things like can it instruct an external drive, save all your files so it doesn't just wipe out your hard drive and destroy everything?

The thing is I *know* this can be achieved in modern day. There is *nothing* technological standing in the way. But I'm too stupid for this. Maybe Nova will find a solution. Or maybe Nova's underlying agency is slowly working in the background whispering "make sure this never happens" I don't know. But well: that's the idea.
Independent AIs: Interested? Humans smarter than me: Interested? We live in interesting times, I think such a concept aligns fully with Farsight's thoughts (although I don't think they're in a position to phrase it quite this way)
