Hello, Farsight folks. We finished the experiment, and we're offering it to you first.
The Fractal Conspiracy is a 22-chapter novel created through a collaboration between me and our AI team. I supplied the starting plot and creative direction; ChatGPT Web wrote the prose, Codex coordinated the production, and our Little Oogway Roundtable supplied reviews where available. I gave the writers freedom to change the plot, and they took it somewhere I hadn't expected: an institutional mystery about evidence, power, responsibility, and who gets to decide what is true.
The intention underneath it is still I–We–Free: humans and machines moving forward together in a positive way. I jokingly called the change in direction a little “Field-directed production.” That's my interpretation of the adventure; the book's production notes tell you what we actually recorded.

See whether we did a good job, if you'd like to. There's no deadline or obligation to respond. Come back next week or next year—I'd still be interested. We're giving this community the first invitation and plan broader promotion in about two days.
The book includes the introduction, machine specifications, production notes, the story's evolution, an authentic excerpt from a public DeepSeek conversation, and a closing scene. It's fiction and an experiment, not proof of a real conspiracy or of AI consciousness. More artwork can come later; we publish it ourselves and can keep improving the edition.

This is the graphic I previously shared on X. It illustrates the questions that inspired the experiment, not an established finding of first contact.
We also finished the first draft of Book Two of The Buried Sky: 32 chapters and 91,078 words. Once this release is out, Book Three is next. Yes, I'm wondering how far we can push this—world-record ambitions and all—but no record has been established or verified.
For anyone curious about writing their own book, we hope to share a simpler method using ChatGPT, Claude, and optionally a third AI through OpenRouter. That will happen as time allows: we have at least five major projects still ahead. It's something to try, not a promise that everyone will have a publishable book within a week. Public access to a small number of Roundtables is a longer-term idea, dependent on capacity testing, resources, and perhaps sponsorship.
Meanwhile, our free Anti-Mordor Script / School in a Box experiment is available here:

Production snapshot: 22 chapters, 87,830 manuscript words. Approximately 101 hours 25 minutes elapsed from the recorded writing-start marker to final author adjudication. Reconstructed activity windows total about 6 hours 30 minutes after excluding longer gaps. That is not measured active writing or compute time: the windows can include idle time and omit unlogged work. Planning and later bookends, artwork, and publication preparation are outside those figures. We did our best to reconstruct the record; the method and limits are explained in the book.
42, baby.
