As one who has spent over 50 years living in the drainage of the colorado river and studied geology in college, I can say that Dick and Daz's descriptions of the creation of the canyon are metaphorical. But all the other stuff.....whew, awesomeness.
Also, Bix's statement that mining is not allowed any where near the canyon is not true. Many mines on the north rim and other places.

they even have the rainbow bridge, and all the humanoids from the simarillian and lord of the rings. the shinny trans morphing thing is god energy, like in the bible where moses face glowed "and he spake with god face to face as a man speaketh with his friend" i know where ill be this spring. to find it just follow the lay lines. i was there 20 yrs ago down in the sea of cortez where the colorado river dumps into the sea. it was first full moon after summer solstice and two huge pillars of fire appeared to the north. i couldnt tell how big they were cause i was miles away, but they were easly visable so the big one must have been 500 hundred feet high or more. it was red orange but it didnt flicker like fire but spun slowly in pillar form, just like in exodus. the mexicans there are well aquainted with this phenomina and told me about it two days previously, but i didnt believe them. it lasted all night till the moon went down. i will return again.
