When i discovered the Hum about 25 years ago it almost made me crazy. I have heard some theories of what it could be, but none have convinced me. I have managed to almost suppress it from my hearing, but i was reminded the other day because it seems to be a bit louder in the spring. Courtney please tell me what it is.

Funny you should mention that but I watched a video posted in here the other day talking about humanity being subjected to emanations to raise its frequency or something like that. The famous chaneller in the video Deloris Cannon said that lots of people complain about the ringing in their ears and she said that you can ask 'them' to tone it down a bit. It was an approach to what is going on that I am not knowledgeable about and feel disinclined to follow up at the moment, hence my vagueness. But your question reminded me of those statements.

I have recently been plagued with ringing in my own ears but I have so many health problems that it could have any one of a dozen totally mundane causes. I feel wrecked because my sleep seems to be interfered with but again there are much simpler explanations than outside influences. However I again recently discovered listening to Linda Moulton Howe in here that many people are reporting apocalyptic dreams with the sky on fire and floods. I had just such a dream of dark clouds laced with fire rushing overhead and a mighty tsunami rushing in from the other direction. It was just ahead of theTonga disaster so I associated it with that.

Hums, rumbles and groaning sounds, booms, of uncertain origins are also experienced as mass events that can go on for extended periods of time and are reported from all over the world. So, not an answer from Courtney but you can rest assured many others experience similar phenomena.

Thank You for your answer. I also have had many health issues and I also have ringing in my ears wich I got 15 years ago when I happened to be poisoned by cadmium. When I discovered the Hum my ears were perfect and there is a distinc difference. The ringing comes from inside of me, but the Hum comes from outside.

I too get ringing on my ears, the other day I experienced a frequency change. It was a very odd thing, something neverbeforeexperienced. The change was very pleasant and I felt an immediate sense of joy. I have no idea what that was. It was so surprising that I said out loud "wow, that was nice" and couldn't help smiling.

This topic is not about tinnitus! It is about a sound coming from an unknown source outside of me.

The only time in my 57 years that I have known silence from the ringing & the hum (I have both and they seem separate?) was for less than a second as I "re-synched" back into my body after an OBE. What I learned from this is the sounds seem either to be external or emanate from my non physical self in some way.

I have always had this feeling that I am "lucky" to have this noise (although I concede this may be a coping mechanism as it is pretty loud (though does vary in volume and tone now and again). It feels like this is a privilege that I have been gifted yet I have never learned or understood what the advantage is. Any clues anyone?!
