Hi, I want to share my encounter with beings which I and one other person encountered years ago. I chose them because I have actually seen and been near them. I don't know what you could do with this information, and you have already covered insectoids. Perhaps you could explore the circumstances which may have led them to end up on Earth and be seen so easily.
It happened during summer on a Mediterranean island. It was early morning, around 7 am, after a heavy, windy thunderstorm. My friend and I were going to the local store for groceries. We were on vacation in a quiet neighborhood populated with vacationers. And at this time there were very few people there. As we left home and walked out the gate, we saw three beings on our left side. They were lying on their backs on the left side of the street, in front of a small apartment parking space, and they were completely motionless. They looked dead but I could feel them still being alive. They looked like green grasshoppers. Or another way of saying it, they were literal giant grasshoppers. This is the best way that I can describe them, it is what I thought at that moment, and it is how I remember them now. I do not remember them as mantises or any other creature. But I could be wrong and they could have looked like mantises. Two of them were large, around 3 feet long/tall, and one was around half that size. They were positioned parallel to the road: the large ones were next to each other and the smaller one was below them. The immediate impression I got was "parent and child".
We did not get close to them to inspect. In fact, we stayed for maybe a minute and then continued to the store. I still do not know why we were so nonchalant about it, but I do remember being cautious and planning on looking at them when we got back, 10 minutes later. And when we returned, they were completely gone, leaving no trace. If it weren't for both of us being there, we would each think it was a fever dream. There was nobody else there and the few people we shared this to don't believe us, obviously. And so I wonder what they were, where they came from, how and where they disappeared to. Thank you for reading.
