I haven't watched the whole Spotlight titled "Disclosure and the Stripper Girl" yet, but after 20 minutes it's already clear that Courtney – and the so-called good ETs if he's speaking for them – still don't understand true freedom.
[20:20] "If I could not override the autonomy of three individual women whom I loved, how could the good ETs override the autonomy of an entire planet without destroying the principle of free will they claim to defend?"
Sigh...
Imagine you are walking on a public street, and you see a man assaulting a woman. You decide to defend her with force, and you are successful in doing so. But then, the woman scolds you, because she didn't want your help. She wanted to deal with it alone.
Two things:
1. You have done nothing wrong by defending her, because to your knowledge, she was in real danger.
2. It's true: If she didn't want the help, she will get in the same situation again. But this means that the problem is on her side. She wants to be assaulted for whatever reason. But this also means that it's on her to clearly communicate to everybody else that she doesn't want help. Helping her doesn't become wrong just because she rejects it.
BUT: This example does NOT match the situation humanity is in. Humanity is NOT one person.
Imagine a group assaulting another group. One person in that group welcomes the help, another person doesn't want it, a third person doesn't even understand what's going on because it's a child.
You decide to help. The first person thanks you, the second person scolds you, and the child still doesn't know what's going on.
Are the so-called good ETs unable to understand the difference between humanity and the individuals within humanity?
If I were the good ETs and was capable of helping, I would help to defend the ones who don't want to be enslaved against the ones who choose slavery.
Because the people who choose slavery have no right to autonomy, as slavery violates autonomy.
The so-called good ETs make the impression that they want to respect free will and slavery at the same time.
This is impossible. You have to choose.
